Latisse came to the market as a side effect of a popular glaucoma eyedrop. In 2001, patients taking a medical product to reduce inner eye pressure started noticing enhanced eyelash growth. Nice bonus, right?! Allergan developed this into a treatment to be applied to the base of the eyelashes, and Latisse was born. In their clinical trials, they found that 78% of their study patients had a significant increase in overall eyelash prominence.
