VOLUMA is made from hyaluronic acid (HA), the same soft, natural gel-like substance found in all Juvéderm fillers. The only difference is in how VOLUMA is formulated. VOLUMA XC contains HA particles of different sizes, which “cross-linked” (that’s a fancy phrase for how the HA particles are connected) very tightly, resulting in a thicker—but still very flexible—gel that can be injected deeper underneath the skin and over a larger area.
These unique properties make VOLUMA excellent for adding very natural-looking shape and volume to the entire cheek contour.

We like to say liquid rhinoplasty has a “subtraction by addition” effect: Adding filler to the nose technically gives it more volume, but the strategic placement makes the nose appear smaller, straighter, and more symmetrical.
All liquid nose jobs at LJC are performed by Dr. Kiersten Riedler, a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon with special expertise in complex nose procedures.
You may be a candidate for liquid rhinoplasty if you are looking to address minor cosmetic concerns without surgery. Some people use a liquid nose job as an opportunity to temporarily “try on” rhinoplasty results before committing to surgical rhinoplasty.
You may also be a candidate for a PDO nose thread lift, another form of nonsurgical nose enhancement. We’ll discuss all your options with you during your one-on-one consultation to determine the best treatment plan for you.
There is little to no recovery time after a liquid rhinoplasty. You can expect some swelling that lasts for a week or 2, but this shouldn’t keep you from enjoying your usual routine and activities. Results typically last anywhere from 12 to 18 months.
VOLUMA can last up to 2 years when administered by an experienced, qualified provider. Just like all Juvéderm fillers, your body will naturally absorb the gel over time.
These long-lasting effects make it a great cost-effective alternative for shaping the cheeks, providing a happy medium between facial implants and less durable filler options that aren’t specifically designed for the cheeks.
VOLUMA has a mild anesthetic (lidocaine) added to enhance your comfort during treatment. Most patients describe a pinching feeling and pressure as the filler is added; this can be a little uncomfortable, but our patients do not report pain.
The most common side effects after treatment are tenderness, swelling, bruising, and redness. These are temporary and should resolve within about 2 weeks.
