JUVÉDERM Dermal Fillers in San Diego & Carlsbad
You may be a candidate for Juvedérm dermal filler at our San Diego or Carlsbad locations if you have wrinkles on your face or around your lips that you wish to diminish.
Juvéderm is approved by the FDA for volumizing and correcting deep folds and wrinkles such as nasolabial folds (the “smile lines” between the nose and the corners of your mouth), making it a long-time favorite with our patients from Encinitas, Oceanside, San Marcos, and surrounding areas.

The cost of Juvéderm at our San Diego and Carlsbad med spa locations varies depending on the amount of product needed to create your dream look. To put that in terms of a lip enhancement treatment, you can achieve a voluminous look with a 1cc syringe or a subtler look with a .4cc syringe.
Juvedérm treatments can be done in our La Jolla office by appointment. It usually takes 30-45 minutes for a Juvéderm appointment. Your first appointment may take a little longer as we’ll include a thorough skin evaluation and consultation.
You may be able to come in on the same day you call! We reserve time in our schedules for fillers and Botox appointments. We can also see you during your lunch break or in the evening on certain days of the week. Call

Lip Injections
Juvéderm Treatment Areas
One of the reasons Juvéderm has become so popular is because it can do so much! This versatile injectable has no shortage of indications, including:
Jawline Refinement: A little filler can go a long way in terms of sharpening and defining your jawline.
Chin Augmentation: Nonsurgical chin augmentation balances your facial proportions and gives your look a little extra structure.
Nose (Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty): Dr. Kiersten Riedler uses VOLUMA® XC to achieve a nonsurgical “nose job.”
Tear Troughs (Under-Eye Fillers): If you have hollows under your eyes that make you look perpetually tired, tear-trough fillers can smooth them away.
Cheek Volume: Adding fullness and definition to your cheeks gives your face a youthful and beautifully contoured shape.
Nasolabial Folds: Juvéderm is a favorite for treating these lines that run from the sides of your nose around your mouth.
Marionette Lines: These lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin are no match for a little filler.

Can Juvéderm Be Used for Lip Enhancement?
Yes! Injectors at our San Diego and Carlsbad medspas perform lip injections with Juvéderm Ultra Plus because of the softness it provides for lip enhancement. Many women worry that getting lip filler injections will make them look like a duck, but having Juvéderm injected into the lips can be quite subtle.
Watch below as our certified physician assistant Lauren Amico Reed uses lip filler to create fuller, more defined lips for one of our lovely LJC visitors.
Design the New You
Not sure how to get the look you want? Tell us about your goals, and we’ll show you the possibilities.
Not sure about the differences between these injectables or which one you need? Here’s a quick rundown:
Juvéderm is a dermal filler that adds volume beneath the skin. It enhances contours and fills in lines and wrinkles caused by volume loss, such as nasolabial folds.
BOTOX is a neuromodulator. It interrupts signals telling certain muscles to contract, which smooths away dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines.
What’s a Liquid Facelift?
A liquid facelift (nonsurgical facelift) involves performing BOTOX and dermal filler injections together. The combination achieves overall facial rejuvenation by addressing the following concerns in a single injectable session:
Lack of volume
Slight sagging
Wrinkles
This is a highly popular procedure for our San Diego and Carlsbad patients. Patients with more substantial skin laxity and deep facial wrinkles that cannot be effectively treated through nonsurgical options may need a surgical facelift to attain their desired results.
Enjoy Pain-free Filler Injections With Add-on Option PRO-NOX™
Every patient deserves a comfortable experience, so we now offer an add-on option to use PRO-NOX™ during injectables, laser treatments, and other medical spa services.
What Is PRO-NOX™?
PRO-NOX™ is a self-administered nitrous oxide (laughing gas) system that allows you to be in full control of your comfort. If at any point you need something to take the edge off, simply breathe through the PRO-NOX™ mouthpiece for instant relief from pain and anxiety.
Unlike oral pain medication, PRO-NOX™ takes effect in seconds but wears off minutes after your treatment, leaving no trace of the chemical in your body. You can safely drive and return to your normal routine without worrying about side effects.
Ask us about adding PRO-NOX™ to your treatment at your consultation, or contact us for more information!
Dermal filler treatments are quick, easy, and do not require downtime. It is helpful to take the following precautions after treatment for optimal results:
Avoid using topical products with retinol, glycolic acid, or vitamin C for 24 hours.
No rubbing or putting pressure on the injection sites.
Hold off on strenuous activity and excessive heat for 24 hours.
Wait on those alcoholic drinks until the next day.
How Long Does Juvéderm Last?
Juvéderm produces smooth and natural results that can last up to 6 months or longer. It can fill in and reduce the depth of the nasolabial fold or depressed acne scars. Its hyaluronic acid with gel particle suspension formulation creates a smooth gel that flows easily into the skin, creating volume.

A: It’s less a question about which option is better and more a question about which option is better for you, If you’re looking to boost your contours and fill in sunken wrinkles or folds, filler is probably your best solution. If you want to smooth out dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX might be a better choice. When you visit us for a consultation, your injector will have an in-depth discussion about your concerns and goals before recommending the right fit for you.
Q: What’s the best age to start getting dermal fillers?
A: There is no “best” age for a first filler treatment because there are so many things we can do with these versatile products. People in their 20s and up enjoy the enhancements we can make to the lips, nose, cheeks, and chin. Starting in their 40s, people choose fillers to rejuvenate the mid-face (think tear troughs, smile lines, and flat cheeks).
Q: What happens when fillers wear off?
A: Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvéderm wear off gradually over time as your body naturally breaks them down. You’ll notice a subtle decrease in volume after several months. At that time, you can choose to either let your results fade completely or come back in to re-up your look.
Q: Is one syringe of Juvéderm enough?
A: It depends on what you’re looking to treat. For smaller areas such as the lips or tear troughs, one syringe is often enough to create a great-looking result. For larger areas such as the cheeks, however, you may need an extra syringe or two to achieve a look you love.
Q: Is there anywhere that you shouldn’t inject fillers?
A: Fillers can be safely injected into many different areas of the face and hands. Some regions carry slightly higher risks than others because of the many blood vessels in the area, including the tear troughs and nose. That’s why it’s so important to choose a credentialed injector: Injectors need to have in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy to steer clear of any potential complications. In the hands of an experienced nurse or board-certified plastic surgeon, there’s no need to worry. We also carry an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid quickly in the rare case you experience any issues.
Q: What are tear trough fillers?
A: Tear trough fillers are dermal fillers injected into the tear troughs or the hollow areas (dark circles) below the eyes. Thanks to genetics, some of us have shadows in these areas that always make us look just a little tired, no matter how much coffee we drink. Filling the tear troughs creates a more rested and refreshed appearance, and it also achieves a smoother transition between the upper cheek and the lower eyelid.
Q: Do fillers age you if you overdo them?
Fillers that are improperly placed or overdone can create an unnatural and even aged appearance. It’s important to choose experienced, knowledgeable injectors to ensure your filler results look refreshed, beautiful, and natural.
