ThermiVa utilizes a proprietary thermal energy technology to specifically and precisely target and tighten underlying tissues. This technology, Thermi, is the same, effective technology used in other ThermiAesthetics devices, such as ThermiTight™. During treatment, the targeted vaginal tissue is heated through the application of radiofrequency until shrinkage occurs and the desired results are achieved.

Totally comfortable. Depending on your treatment (internal, external, or both), you may be asked to shave the area before your appointment. It’s important to do it a few days in advance so the area is not too sensitive during treatment.
Prior to treatment, we apply the same gel used for ultrasounds, which allows the ThermiVa wand to move more easily. You can feel the heat coming from the applicator, but it was only about a degree or two warmer than my own body temperature. Noticeable, though not at all uncomfortable. No anesthesia is required and patients report that treatment feels like a gentle massage.
Individual treatments typically take around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on if whether you are treating the internal, external or entire vulvovaginal area.
We begin your treatment by carefully and precisely applying a soft, plastic S-shaped probe to administer treatment to the labia and inside the vagina.
After treatment, you should be able to resume all of your normal activities immediately with little-to-no residual sensitivity in the area. Results gradually appear over the course of about two weeks, though this can vary from patient to patient. Some women notice improvement almost immediately.
We typically recommend a series of three ThermiVa treatments spaced one month apart. Some women are pleased with their results after just one treatment. In these instances, patient goals are met early and further therapy is not required.
