Janine Kier joined LJC in 2023 as one of the caring and talented aestheticians at our new Carlsbad Medspa location. She has worked in aesthetics for over 25 years, providing patients with dramatic skin improvement results. Janine is nothing short of a veteran when it comes to skincare.

Initially drawn to the medical field because of her natural passion for helping others, she’s now using that passion every day by helping others feel confident in their skin and helping people in need of a proper skincare routine.   

A Familial History of Passion for Skin Care  

Janine became interested in skincare at the early age of 12. Her grandmother would preach the importance of protecting skin from the sun and even taught Janine how to make do-it-yourself face masks! 

Born and raised in San Francisco, Janine started her career working for dermatologists and plastic surgeons in the Bay Area. She brought her talent to San Diego in 1999 and never looked back.  

The More Dramatic the Results, the Better  

From HydraFacials and DiamondGlows to chemical peels, Janine loves doing treatments that promote significant changes. Her favorite thing about her job is being able to guide others to healthy skin. Nothing makes her happier than seeing the look in her patients’ eyes after she has completely changed their skin.  

“It’s nice to have the traditional facial that has a massage once in a while, but I really like to get in there and exfoliate and introduce medical-grade treatments and products that will truly make a difference.”  

With over two decades in aesthetics under her belt, she knows just what to do to target your biggest skin concerns. From hyperpigmentation to acne scarring and more—you name it, she has the solution.  

Always keeping up with new technologies and adapting her talents to them, the technological advancement Janine is most excited over are the latest HydraFacial machines and the bright future full of possibilities for thread treatments.  

Janine prides herself in giving each patient personalized, one-on-one care. Her philosophy is to make every patient’s treatment and recommendations exclusive to their skin’s needs.  

“What is that saying that if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life? That holds true. It’s a blessing to come in and do what I absolutely love. And I only hope that it radiates to other people.” 

Outside of the Office 

You can find Janine hiking or shopping when she is not at work. And if she had a month totally to herself, she would book a flight to visit her parents in Costa Rica.  

A lover of anything that includes seafood, Janine’s favorite local restaurant is Coasterra. The thing about San Diego that keeps her hooked is the beautiful weather and diversity.
